Tips to Boost Android Speed and Performance

Become a considerable part of this Smart Era, smartphone, needs maintenance timely. We will see some methods and apps to boost android speed and performance.

Android Performance

If your phone doesn’t have those stellar specifications like flagships, chances are that you might suffer from anxiety and frustration because of your slow device. Smartphones perform just fine when newly purchased but over time they store unnecessary files which makes the device slow and android performance worse. Many apps that are not optimized correctly and you have installed inside your phone also slows it down. To make things correct again you won't need to remove thousands of unnecessary photos and videos. The same goes for unnecessary items in your device.

Here are a few tips and tricks to boost android speed and performance significantly : -

Use a File Manager:

A file manager is an inbuilt app (in some phone it's not, we have to download it from an external source) that arranges files you have in your device in an organized way. There are many file manager apps available on PlayStore that also have some exceptional features but some of them are just on the next level on managing things while others are just nothing except garbage. A good file manager comes with a clean interface with useful analytics which may help you in wiping your phone easily. is A file manager by Google named “Files by Google” is an excellent app. Powerful integrated algorithms that collect usage and user data and give recommendations according to the requirement is the key feature of this file manager app. A great alternative to Google’s file manager is ES file explorer which provides more powerful features than Google’s but it is not that impressive in the terms of user-interface and Machine Learning algorithms to provide recommendations.

Delete/Disable Unnecessary Apps:

Delete unused/unnecessary apps can provide a major boost in your phone’s performance. Many apps after installation stores data even when not being used that frequently. You might have a step-tracking app or GPS navigation app which you don't use often and are not that quite useful, such type of apps store a large amount of data in the background. It is always a good choice to uninstall such apps and other useless apps. Disable apps that come pre-installed in your system or phone which can't be uninstalled by going in-app settings. By disabling these such apps, they won't start in the background and also consume very little space and data.

Clear App Cache and Data:

Android PerformanceWhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram like messaging apps store messages as text data in .txt file (you can check it in your WhatsApp folder in file manager), over time this text data occupies a large amount of storage on your phone. This kind of cache or data should be cleared over a regular period of time. This can be done by going to the ‘Device Settings’ then to the ‘Application Manager’. Other apps like web browsers, maps, etc. also store enough of cache memory in the device. Keep this thing in mind that cache plays an important role in boosting your phone's performance so clear your device cache when it is running out of storage.

Use a Static Background:

Smartphones use CPU to process, better the CPU performance faster will be the device or better android performance, it is always a nice thing to get rid of those unnecessary burdens on your device’s CPU. Live wallpapers are a burden on your device’s CPU performance. If you are using live wallpaper on your device home screen, then replace it immediately with a static background. Your device will take fewer moments to load the home screen when using a static wallpaper as compared to a live wallpaper.

Clean RAM Memory:

Don’t keep activities running in the background. It is completely true that the android/phone’s performance relies on the processing speed of the CPU but to use that performance your phone needs some air to breathe also known as RAM. If your device has low RAM memory then you need to install the lite version of apps like Facebook has Facebook lite, Messenger has Messenger Lite, PUBG has PUBG lite, etc. and clear heavy apps to make it smoother. In Android, there are Developer Options, which has an experimental feature known as “Don’t Keep Activities” that can be enabled by going in these Options. Now, you need to go to System Settings to enable the “Developer Options” setting in your device, go to “About Phone” and press “Build Number” several times until a dialogue box appears showing that "You're now a developer" or “Developer setting has been enabled”.

Update the Device:

Every year Google gives a new Android Operating Systeme which is more efficient than the previous one. They also give several updates monthly to some popular/supported phones to remove bugs, improve new version android performance and make it more user-friendly. Like, keep updating yourself with the world helps a lot to live a good life, the same implies on our phone too. So if you have an update pending in your smartphone settings, don’t think so much to install it.
