Cause of unemployment is not only because of lack of jobs

Unemployment,  a key economic indicator as to how healthy an economy signals the ability or inability of workers to readily obtain gainful work to contribute to the productive output of the economy. Unemployment is a term referring to people in the workplace or individuals who are available for work, employable and seeking a job but do not have an appropriate job. In today's world, we can easily see that youth are in the huge blunder of lack of jobs which leads to a kind of halt in the country's economical growth.

Causes of Unemployment:

unemployment
Now, comes to the causes of unemployment, generally, people use to say that number of youth (Job Seekers) is greater than the number of jobs. This must be a reason for unemployment and actually, it's a very true fact but it can't be the only cause of unemployment. There are many more causes also. Then, What are the causes of unemployment? If there is any role of the country's government system in unemployment then the person which is unemployed or gives employment is also equally responsible for that. So, we will now see the reasons for unemployment.

>>No Idea:-

Sounds Weird!! But actually holds very great meaning. If a well-educated person, who completed his education with all required minimum facilities, is unemployed. Then I must say that person has no idea what is he doing, whatever he is doing is right or wrong and why is he doing that. Or we can say that person is doing it without any moto.
Let's understand this by taking a real-life example. In India, after the successful completion of secondary education, students have to choose some particular stream for their senior secondary studies. The stream can be anything, say a student chose Science with Maths (PCM) but only because he is good in Mathematics and got a good command in it. No future goals, No particular aim.  After two years, he completed his studies and it's time to go for graduation. Let's say he chose B.Tech for his graduation with any branch and no interest. However by pushing he completed his graduation but what's next. It's an ideal time to get a job but he did his graduation just for its completion. He just crammed everything at exam time and must have passed all his exams. And with all his insufficiency in skills, lack of qualifications, he applied for a job. Will he get a job? The answer is Big No! More than half of the total number of youths is on the same path as this student was, which leads to the state of unemployment in the country.

>>Caste System:-

unemployment

Countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Philippines have a caste system that is very prevalent, hence several jobs are prohibited for specific caste people or the deserving candidates are not provided with jobs. This gives rise to unemployment in a country for those people who are not privileged.

>>Job Dissatisfaction:-

This happens due to a lack of attention from the employers on the performance of the employee. It reduces the interest and desire to work and employees deliberately lose their jobs.

>>Cultural and Social Factors:-

Youth unemployment is frequently highest amongst stripped areas where there is grief over job prospectsYouth unemployment is much higher in minority areas and groups, people with criminal records or drug use.

>>Recession:-

Recession is a temporary period when the economic rate declines during which trade and industrial activities are reduced. Due to globalization, the financial crises in one country may affect other countries' economies. In 2009, the H1N1 pandemic creates a situation of recession all over the world. It took a few years to get out of this recession by the whole world, developed countries took lesser time to again build up their economy than developing countries. The same kind of situation is again facing by the world in this present year i.e 2020 due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. We all must be prepared for the fall in economic rates after this pandemic over.

>>Change in Technology:-

The employers look for people with the best substitute and with the latest caliber. Therefore, the number of jobs cut down and leads to unemployment. Also in this machine era or artificial intelligence era, everyone prefers machines over a human to do the work. Because machines can work more efficiently, they cost less, needs electricity while humans have more requirements. This is also one of the major causes of unemployment throughout the world.

There are many effects of unemployment also.

Impact of Unemployment:

The rate of unemployment depends on the economy to the economy and adversely affects the productivity fall below the normal level. Besides the effects of unemployment problems on economy, there are many social effects too. The social effects are as follows:
  • Loss of skills
  • Mental illness
  • Financial obstacle
  • Poor living standards etc.

Conclusion:

Hence the government is required to take initiatives and implement policies to reduce unemployment in the economy. A high employment rate leads to an increase in production rates, improves the living standard of people of the economy and leads to the overall growth of the country. Not only the government the individuals must also increase their capabilities, skills, take proper training sessions and also think about self-employment.
In the end, I would like to conclude that through the combined efforts of the Government and the individual as well this issue of unemployment can be eradicated from the economy.
